Cylindrical Metal Part Marking

Cylindrical Metal Part Marking

Marking cylindrical metal parts brings its own challenges: the curved surface means a flat engraving pass won't give an even result across the face of the mark. For this job, we needed to apply permanent identification to a large volume of stainless steel components - accurately and repeatably.

How we did it

We set the parts up on a rotary jig so each component turned under the laser, keeping the marking sharp and consistent all the way around the curve. This let us apply clear codes and identifiers at speed, with the permanence you need for traceability on metal parts.

Why it matters

Permanent part marking supports traceability, quality control and asset management across manufacturing and engineering. Because the mark is engraved into the metal, it won't rub off or corrode away like printed labels can.
