Permanent exterior and interior signage on 3mm ACM aluminium composite, printed directly onto the board using our flatbed UV printers.

ACM consists of a polyethylene core bonded between two aluminium faces, making it rigid, flat and lightweight for its strength. Because we UV-print directly onto the stove-lacquered aluminium surface rather than applying a vinyl sticker, there is no vinyl layer to bubble, shrink or peel over time.

Choosing between boards. ACM is the permanent option. Use 4mm Correx instead when the sign is temporary or the budget matters more than the finish, or 5mm foam board for indoor display work where print quality leads.

Frequently asked questions

Why print direct to the board instead of applying vinyl?

A vinyl-applied sign relies on adhesive between the vinyl and the board, which can eventually lift at the edges or bubble. Direct-to-board UV printing cures the ink straight onto the aluminium face, so there is no separate vinyl layer to peel.

Is ACM genuinely weatherproof?

Yes. Aluminium faces and a polyethylene core mean there is nothing to absorb water, rot or rust, and the UV inks are fade resistant. It handles rain, wind and temperature swings, which is why it is specified for permanent exterior signage rather than temporary boards.

Can ACM boards be printed double sided?

We print ACM single sided. For a sign that needs to read from both directions, order two boards and mount them back to back in a frame or post channel - that also gives a more rigid finished panel than a single sheet.

How is an ACM sign fixed in place?

Screws through the face, standoff bolts for a raised architectural look, slotted into post channels, or heavy-duty adhesive onto a flat substrate. Tell us how it is being mounted and we can leave the board plain or drill it to your positions.

What sizes can you produce?

Any size up to 2440 × 1220mm, cut square or to a shape you supply as a vector outline. Larger runs of matching panels are straightforward, and printing in-house means a replacement board next year still matches the ones already installed.

How does it compare with Correx?

Correx costs less and is right for temporary outdoor signage, but it is a fluted plastic and looks like one close up. ACM is rigid, flat and premium, so it suits a shop fascia or business-park sign where the finish reflects on the business behind it.
